Greenway–Chaplin sits close enough to the old Galt core that the housing carries much the same soft brick and lime mortar, without quite the heritage constraints of West Galt. It is some of the most rewarding repointing work in the city — the walls take it well and the results hold.
Because the brick here is generally sound and it is the joints that have gone, repointing is usually the right answer rather than any kind of rebuild. That tends to be a considerably cheaper conversation than people expect when they call us about a wall they can dig mortar out of with a key.
